Why I Invented AquaBLAST
When I invented AquaBLAST, I wasn't trying to reinvent aquatic fitness.
I was simply looking for a better way to train in the water.
After building the first prototype and using it myself, something unexpected happened. As I added more water, it naturally made the bag heavier. Every workout became more challenging, and over time I became stronger.
Only later did I realize what had happened.
Without intending to, I had created one of the few portable aquatic training systems that allows progressive weight training in the water.
That's the same principle that has guided strength training for generations: progressive overload. As your muscles adapt, you gradually increase the resistance.
In a gym, you add more weight to the bar.
With AquaBLAST, you add more water to the bag.
That simple idea changed the way I looked at aquatic exercise.
Most pool fitness equipment relies primarily on drag resistance. Drag certainly has value, but it doesn't provide a simple way to progressively increase the amount of external weight you're moving. AquaBLAST does.
Today, recent research continues to reinforce what I discovered through experience: structured aquatic resistance training can improve strength, physical function, balance, and conditioning. The key isn't simply being in the water—it's progressively challenging your muscles over time.
That's what AquaBLAST was built to do.
It combines adjustable water weight, drag, and buoyancy into one portable training system that can be used for lifting, pressing, rowing, squatting, rotational training, punching, and kicking. You can start with just a few pounds of water and gradually increase the load to approximately 55 pounds as your strength improves.
