AquaBLAST for Retirement Communities

AquaBLAST for Active Retirement Communities

Make your pool part of an active lifestyle.

Staying active should be something you enjoy and can be a part of your regular routine. AquaBLAST is a portable, water-filled fitness bag that lets you add adjustable resistance to pool movements, from simple presses and lifts to pulls, pushes, and optional striking. Start with the amount of water that feels right, then adjust it as your comfort and confidence grow.

Many retirees include strength-focused movement in their routines because maintaining muscle strength and bone health becomes more important with age. AquaBLAST gives you a practical way to add adjustable resistance to pool time, at a pace and load that fit your routine.

It is made for any pool, including home pools, residential communities, recreation centers, and swim spas. Always check your pool’s rules before bringing personal fitness equipment.

What AquaBLAST can add to your routine

  • Adjustable effort: Add less water for a lighter session or more for a greater challenge. The 20L V2 holds up to about 45 lb of water, and the 25L V2 holds up to about 55 lb.
  • Strength-focused movement: Press, lift, pull, push, carry, or optionally strike the bag. Start with less water while learning a movement, then adjust the load as your comfort and control improve.
  • Supported pool setting: Water can make movement feel more supported than many land-based exercises, while the filled bag gives you something purposeful to move through the water.
  • Easy to store: Drain the bag after your session, fold it, and take it home. It does not require a permanent installation.

How to use AquaBLAST in your routine

  1. Fill it at the pool. Start with a comfortable amount of water. You can adjust the load as you learn what feels right for you.
  2. Choose your movement. Hold, press, pull, lift, or push the bag through the water. Striking is optional, not required.
  3. Move at your own pace. Focus on control and comfortable movement rather than trying to lift the maximum amount.
  4. Drain and pack it. When you are finished, empty the bag, fold it, and store it until your next session.

Questions from pool owners

Is AquaBLAST water aerobics?

Not exactly. AquaBLAST is a fitness bag that adds an adjustable load to pool movements. Water supports the body while the filled bag gives you something to press, pull, lift, push, or strike.

Is AquaBLAST suitable for older adults?

It can be part of an active routine for adults who can safely use the pool and control the bag. Start with less water and comfortable movements. If you have a health concern, pain, balance issue, or recent surgery, ask a qualified health professional what is appropriate for you.

Do I need martial arts experience?

No. Striking is optional. You can build a session around simple presses, lifts, pulls, and pushes.

Will it work in a community pool?

It can, provided the pool allows personal fitness equipment. AquaBLAST is not a permanent fixture, so you can bring it in, use it, drain it, and take it out.

What depth works best?

AquaBLAST can be used in roughly 3–5 feet of water, depending on your height, the movement, and the setup. Use normal pool-safety practices and choose movements you can control.

How do I get started?

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

AquaBlast is a water-filled punching bag and fitness device for swimming pools. It uses water resistance, drag, and weight to provide a low-impact, total-body workout in the water. AquaBLAST sets up fast and is portable, so you can take it with you..

UI injured my shoulder rotator cuff playing softball several years ago, so I began working out in my swimming pool using 1 gallon milk jugs. The water-filled jugs were 8 pounds each and made good resistance weights.

One day I punched a jug as it floated by in the pool, and discovered they could float in a neutrally buoyant position by adding air, water, and a small counterweight, and they were flexible enough to punch and kick

As Henry Ford famously said, “you can get a Model T in any color so long as it is black.”
Black is the only color we offer currently. We are considering additional colors in the future. Drop us a line and let us know what color you are interested in, and we will consider it for future production.

AquaBLAST is safe. We use PVC that is compliant with California Proposition 65, meaning that the materials in AquaBLAST comply with California’s strict requirements for the reduction of carcinogens. .

Once you fill it with air and water, you punch, kick, push, and lift the bag. Use AquaBLAST for fitness, low-impact exercise, and fun in the water..

Absolutely! However, AquaBLAST is not a floatation device, and parental supervision is always recommended when children are using the bag. Because AquaBLAST floats, it can easily drift into deeper water.

AquaBLAST weighs about 50 pounds because it is filled with 6 gallons of pool water. Each gallon of water weighs about 8 pounds. When you lift the bag above water, gravity kicks in and you feel the weight.
Underwater AquaBLAST is at equilibrium with the surrounding water, so it is a lot easier to move around, but you still have the weight of water, but no gravity.

The zipper may not be closed. Give the zipper a good tug to fully close it. Squeeze the bag and check for leaks around the zipper.

Yes. You may have to let some air out first so it sinks to the pool floor.
